KLC College (formerly the Kingston Learning Centre) is a Private College with the main campus in Kingston, Ontario. Allan is a lecturer in the Education Assistant Program at the Whitby campus and at the Richmond Hill campus.

Skills for Change provides learning and training opportunities for immigrants and refugees so they can participate in the workplace and wider community. Allan has been a mentor with Teach Ontario as part of this initiative, mentoring internationally trained teachers.

The Durham District School Board is a large public board in the Durham region of Ontario. The board was acclaimed as the Bertelsmann award winner in 1996.

The Council for Exceptional Children is an advocate group for exceptional students. Allan was recognized and honoured for his work as an administrator in supporting exceptional children throughout Durham region by the Durham District School Board and the Durham Catholic District School Board Council for Exceptional Children chapter #584.
